Jeanie Low, LCSW is a service-oriented counselor who provides therapeutic assistance for individuals, families, and couples in a compassionate and knowledgeable environment. She also facilities groups for women, adolescents, children and families. The participants gain insight, beneficial tools and skills that nurture physical, psychological and spiritual growth.
In 2005, she received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Saint Thomas with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy.
In 2008, received her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Houston
Experience:
At the Harris County Psychiatric Center she found her niche, working with children, adolescents, and families. While there, she facilitated individual, family, and group therapy. At HCPC she learned to be an active member in a multidisciplinary team during a mental health crisis.
At the Center for Hearing and Speech Mrs. Low conducted child centered play therapy sessions, complied psychosocial and treatment plans, helped with parenting classes, and learned the importance of working with the entire family system.
At Children’s Assessment Center she worked first hand with sexually abused children providing services designed to meet their emotional needs. During this she also volunteered at the ESCAPE Family Resource Center, a non-profit agency offering parenting classes, divorce classes, and classes for parents with children of disabilities. Mrs. Low also donated time to the Houston Area Women’s Center, a shelter providing support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Counseling Associates of South Texas was her home base of operation for the last 8 years. There Mrs. Low launched and directed the therapeutic summer day camp, Creative Options for 6 years. She also co facilitated a Children’s and Tween’s groups, a Teen Expressive Arts Group, a Woman’s group and a Multi-Family group.
Mrs. Low has presented internationally in Bangladesh and Malaysia on the use of experiential and express art modalities in counseling and is a pursuing her certification in Psychodrama and continues to incorporate this experiential technique into her clinical practice.

Mrs. Low utilizes a variety of treatment modalities including solution focused therapy, strategic family systems therapy, client-centered therapy, and mindfulness practice techniques.
